Double Chin
Coolsculpting vs Kybella - Which is Best for my Double Chin?
Finally, there are so many excellent options to get rid of the double chin. In the last couple of years there have been some very exciting developments for non-invasive treatments of the double chin; notably, Coolsculpting and Kybella. Both of these procedures are highly effective with notable improvement in the submental area in a short amount of time.
Coolsculpting vs Kybella
Coolsculpting is a non-invasive procedure that uses the process of cryolipolysis to destroy fat cells. In an easy to tolerate procedure, through the use of suction, fat under the chin is gently adhered to an applicator and frozen. In one or two hour sessions, you can expect a 20-25% reduction of fat. The frozen fat cells are excreted through the lymphatic system. These targeted fat cells are gone for good, the results are permanent. Typical side effects include numbness and tingling. Multiple treatments may be needed. You may retreat in 6 weeks until results are achieved.
Kybella is a minimally treatment that uses injections to destroy fat cells. Deoxycholic acid is administered to the chin area through a series of quick injections. Once injected the fat cells cannot store or accumulate fat cells. Typical side effects include swelling, pain and redness. Multiple treatments will be needed. You may retreat in 4 weeks until results are achieved.
Both procedures are performed quickly in the privacy of our office with little downtime. Both procedures are highly effective. The decision on which procedure to use lies in the type of fat, the nature or quality of the fat, the preference of the client and the cost. We would love the opportunity to help you decide which treatment is right for you.
