Juvederm

From smile lines to vertical lip lines, Juvederm smooths away unwanted wrinkles and restores natural contours of the skin. As we age, the natural volume of youthful skin begins to diminish as wrinkles form. The Juvederm injection process takes about 15 minutes and corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The results are immediate and there is minimal downtime.

Benefits:

  • Smoothing and plumping up of both deep facial wrinkles and creases

  • Excellent for augmenting lips

  • See immediate visible results

What is Juvederm and how does it work?

Juvederm is an injectable dermal filler. It is a smooth, hyaluronic acid gel infused with lidocaine. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring biodegradable complex sugar found in the human body. It retains moisture and plumps. In just a few minutes Dr Dean Bloch can inject Juvederm to help restore your natural contours and soften wrinkles. Using a fine needle Dr Dean Bloch will place the Juvederm under the skin to help fill the soft tissue under a wrinkle or line. This will add volume and help diminish the appearance of the wrinkle.

What can it do for me?

Juvederm is fantastic for smoothing wrinkles around the mouth and nose instantly. You’ll have immediate improvement for laugh lines, smile lines, nasolabial folds, vertical lip lines and marionette lines. Results are natural looking and the treatment is comfortable and quick.

How long does the procedure take?

Juvederm injections typically take 30-45 minutes. Results are immediate.

Is Juvederm painful?

Topical anesthesia may be applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort, but this is usually not necessary as the treatment is almost painless. We also mix many fillers with a numbing agent to further ensure your comfort throughout the procedure. Ice packs will be given.

How long does Juvederm last?

Juvederm can last for up to 6-12 months. Correction is temporary; therefore, touch-up injections as well as repeat injections are usually needed to maintain optimal corrections. Though Juvederm has been FDA approved to last for up to one year, individual results vary depending on the treated areas.

Is Juvederm safe?

Since hyaluronic acid is naturally found in our body, it is safe. You body naturally absorbs it over time. Juvederm is well tolerated and needs no allergy testing. Juvederm is FDA approved.

What are the side effects?

Most side effects are mild or moderate in nature, and their duration is short lasting (7-10 days or less). The most common side effects include, but are not limited to, temporary redness, pain/tenderness, firmness, swelling, lumps/bumps, bruising, itching, and discoloration at the injection site. As with all skin injection procedures there is a risk of infection.

What should I do before I come in?

To reduce the chance of bruising, begin using sublingual arnica available at our office.
